Explanation or confession?

Watch out for the “intellectual” who speaks as if only status and money motivates people; what they are telling you is their own base motivations.

The book shows that previous generations of Americans were both more curious about “diversity” and more racist towards its bearers.

“Mistake” is not a properly historical category.

So if we can learn from history, how can we learn from Leninism and Maoism without calling them “mistakes”?

Postmodernism was a fad.

Anti-postmodernism is also a fad.

Slow reading is harder than speed reading.

The reason is that “slow reading” is actual reading.

You are rabidly insecure.

But these attempts to control others will bring you no closer to security.

The academic marketplace.

Huxley defined an intellectual as “a person who has discovered something more interesting than sex.” Huxley knew of what he spoke; he did not say “more interesting than status and money.”

You are not a realist.

You are a paranoiac, and a cowardly one at that.

You can make this up.
