Feelings are supposed to change.

X: You won’t feel that way in a couple of years. Y: That just proves that I’m doing it right.

Economic nationalism seems to be rational.

But the mystery is why an economy would need nationally organized feelings in the first place.

The bare minimum.

The human condition of embodiment consists in sensations of pain and pleasure and feelings of pleasant and unpleasant.

Words bind.

The world would be a hopeless place if words had to express intentions, feelings, and beliefs. An insincere promise, for instance, can be just as binding as a sincere oath.

Emotional horizons are open-ended.

I could not be lying if I told you that my feelings for you have changed.
