I’d like to be remembered as someone who said “no” where it counted.

Politics and sexuality.

The structure of both activities turns on our abilities to say “yes,” “no,” “maybe,” and “so?”

Some words.

In so many words, yes. In so many other words, no.

A double negative is not an affirmation.

It was out of not two, but an overflowing of “no’s” that my “yes” came.

“Oh, pirates, yes, they rob I.”

The simple “yes” functions in this line as a radical “no.”

I am a walking, talking “no.”

But as far as my ideas go, “no” sometimes means “yes.”
