Philosophy and/or theory.

A philosopher is somebody who works on fundamental problems. A theorist is somebody who works on unsolvable problems.

“Political philosophy” is an oxymoron.

In a real conflict of values, politics will sacrifice goodness for equality, beauty for authority, and truth for freedom. Philosophy will do just the opposite.
