“Political philosophy” is an oxymoron.

In a real conflict of values, politics will sacrifice goodness for equality, beauty for authority, and truth for freedom. Philosophy will do just the opposite.

  1. Aristotle called politics the science of the Good. Is there a certain kind of politics which has been excluded because of it philosophicity?

  2. The tack here is Arendt’s: the basic distinction between “vita activa” and “vita contemplativa” is at work here.
